Hidden horizons in non - relativistic AdS / CFT

چکیده
We study boundary Green’s functions for spacetimes with non-relativistic scaling symmetry. For this class of backgrounds, scalar modes with large transverse momentum, or equivalently low frequency, have an exponentially suppressed imprint on the boundary. We investigate the effect of these modes on holographic two-point functions. We find that the boundary Green’s function is generically insensitive to horizon features on small transverse length scales. We explicitly demonstrate this insensitivity for Lifshitz z = 2, and then use the WKB approximation to generalize our findings to Lifshitz z > 1 and RG flows with a Lifshitz-like region. We also comment on the analogous situation in Schrödinger spacetimes. Finally, we exhibit the analytic properties of the Green’s function in these spacetimes.

Stretched horizons, quasiparticles and quasinormal modes
We propose that stretched horizons can be described in terms of a gas of non-interacting quasiparticles. The quasiparticles are unstable, with a lifetime set by the imaginary part of the lowest quasinormal mode frequency. If the horizon arises from an AdS/CFT style duality the quasiparticles are also the effective low-energy degrees of freedom of the finite-temperature CFT. We analyze a large c...
متن کاملBulk / Boundary Thermodynamic Equivalence , and the Bekenstein and Cosmic - Censorship Bounds for Rotating Charged AdS Black Holes
We show that one may pass from bulk to boundary thermodynamic quantities for rotating AdS black holes in arbitrary dimensions so that if the bulk quantities satisfy the first law of thermodynamics then so do the boundary CFT quantities. This corrects recent claims that boundary CFT quantities satisfying the first law may only be obtained using bulk quantities measured with respect to a certain ...
متن کاملThe Volume of some Non-spherical Horizons and the AdS/CFT Correspondence
We calculate the volumes of a large class of Einstein manifolds, namely Sasaki-Einstein manifolds which are the bases of Ricci-flat affine cones described by polynomial embedding relations in C. These volumes are important because they allow us to extend and test the AdS/CFT correspondence. We use these volumes to extend the central charge calculation of Gubser (1998) to the generalized conifol...
متن کاملSymmetry Realization, Poisson Kernel and the AdS/CFT Correspondence
Two kinds of realizations of symmetry on classical domains or the Euclidean version of AdS space are used to study AdS/CFT correspondence. Mass of free particles is defined as an AdS group invariant, the Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations for relativistic particles in the AdS space are set up as a simple mimic in the case of Minkowskian space. The bulk-boundary propagator on the AdS space is give...
متن کاملdS/CFT, CENSORSHIP, INSTABILITY OF HYPERBOLIC HORIZONS, AND SPACELIKE BRANES
Cosmic Censorship relies on the validity of an energy condition, usually taken to be the Dominant Energy Condition. The dS/CFT correspondence furnishes a context in which the DEC can be deduced and need not be assumed; on the other hand, naked singularities arise naturally in asymptotically deSitter spaces when the cosmological horizon has a hyperbolic structure, and there is evidence that the ...
